Hardly any other writer in western culture has attracted so much interest as William Shakespeare. His plays dominate theatre repertoires around the world. On the occasion of his 450th birthday The Museum of Applied Art invites visitors to undertake a journey of discovery into the world of Shakespeare – in manga and painting, theatre, film and literature. “A Party for Will” follows the varied and colourful traces of his posthumous life which thus heralds in a change of paradigm – away from the person or theatrical process to the reception of his plays and characters in world theatre, popular culture, literature and in other arts and media.
