Isn't it romantic? Contemporary Design balancing between Poetry and Provocation

Alongside the paradigms of Classical Modernism which are still valid in contemporary design, trends have become established which can be characterized by the ambiguous term “Romanticism”. This exhibition focuses on the one hand very consciously on surfaces in which pattern, materials and processing methods are shown which defy generally held expectations as to perfection, functionality and eternal validity. On the other hand the show sets out to explore in depth the concept of Romanticism in design today by showing conceptual works which take up or reflect poetic, ironic or dark and unfathomable principles of the romantic.
