Nam June Paik Award – International Media Art Prize of the Arts Foundation of the State of North Rhine Westphalia 2006

The Museum für Angewandte Kunst will present an exhibition of media art works by eight international artists who have been nominated for this year’s Nam June Paik Award. The founder of media art, Nam June Paik, who died in January 2006, gave his name to this prize which is now to be awarded for the third time. After 19 years at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf (Düsseldorf Art Academy) North Rhine Westphalia was his “artistic home”, as he once put it. In 2006 the competition is being organised jointly by the Kunststiftung NRW (Arts Foundation) and the Museum für Angewandte Kunst.
