Malen im Feuer. Alberto Hernández – Ceramics

Alberto Hernández (born in 1959 in Salamanca) has been experimenting with ceramics as a material for 25 years. His paintings are created not with brush and oil paints on canvas but by ceramic firing which is interrupted several times for the spectacular painting process. The powerful expressiveness and fascination exerted by the large-format paintings are due especially to the subtle nuancing of colour and light and the varied surface textures. The work of the Spanish artist is to be shown for the first time in Germany: an impressive sensual experience awaits the visitor. The exhibition was organised in conjunction with the National Museum of Ceramics in Valencia and the Spanish Ministry of Culture.
