The exhibition Möbel mit Geschichte(n) [furniture with (hi)stories] focuses on the MAKK‘s historical furniture collection. In addition to various art-historical aspects, it is above all the subtle details of the individual pieces that convey fascinating stories about design, form and materiality. From wedding chests to square pianos, from cabinets to gaming tables, visitors are invited to discover diverse facets of furniture and interior design from a period spanning more than five centuries. The exhibitions in the Selected series provide insights into the museum’s historical collections from distinct thematic viewpoints.
